Privacy Policy
ColorPirates (operated by PlaySonetto) is a free game with no sign-up or login. The iPhone and iPad app offers an optional purchase, Remove Ads; payments are handled by Apple and the developer never receives your payment information. The Android app has no in-app purchases. Game progress is stored only on your device, and only the limited information listed below is processed by Google for showing ads (Google AdMob) and for gameplay statistics (Google Analytics for Firebase). A nickname and ranking record are stored on the developer's server (Supabase) only if you register for the Challenge Mode ranking yourself.
Information the app and developer don't collect
We don't collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, precise location, contacts, photos, or payment information (card numbers, payment methods, Apple Account details). There are no accounts, so your play history isn't linked to any individual. A ranking nickname is a name you choose yourself; we never ask for your real name.
Information stored on your device
Stages played and stars earned, Bestiary unlocks, sound, tips and language settings, and your ad consent choice are stored only on your device so you can keep playing. If you bought Remove Ads on iPhone or iPad, a copy of the “purchased” status is also kept on the device so ads never flash up at launch (it's separate from your progress, so Settings › Delete Save Data doesn't remove it). Deleting the app removes all of it.
Remove Ads purchase (iPhone and iPad, optional)
Remove Ads is an optional one-time purchase that stays active once bought (price shown in the App Store in your currency). It removes banner ads, and item and continue rewards that used to require watching a rewarded ad are given instantly without an ad; the number of rewards and where you get them stay the same as in the free version.
- Payments and refunds are handled by Apple through your Apple Account. The developer does not receive or store card numbers, payment methods or Apple Account details, and runs no payment server.
- The app only asks Apple (StoreKit) whether you own this item and keeps the result as a copy on your device. If the purchase is refunded, the copy is removed at the next check.
- When a purchase is completed, Google Analytics for Firebase receives the purchase event it records automatically from the store transaction (item, price, currency, etc.), and the game sends only the type of purchase or restore outcome (success, cancelled, failed, awaiting approval, etc.) along with the price and currency. This is not used to identify you.
- After changing devices or reinstalling, you can get it back with Settings › Remove Ads › Restore Purchases.
The Android app has no in-app purchases and processes no payment-related information.
Challenge Mode ranking (optional, Supabase)
The Challenge Mode ranking is used only when you choose a nickname and register yourself. If you don't register, none of the information below is sent to the server (except that reporting someone else's nickname creates a random identifier, with no nickname, to tell reporters apart).
- Nickname (1–7 characters) — shown publicly on the ranking.
- Random install ID — a random value created by the app on your device, unrelated to any device or advertising identifier. Together with a secret token issued by the server, it is used only to tell which record is yours; the token is stored on the server only as a hash.
- Ranking record — your best Challenge Mode streak and when it was set, a run summary used to verify the record (random seed, the bosses and mid-bosses met in each run, turn counts), and submission history.
- Report records — the reported nickname and when it was reported (for moderation).
- To prevent abuse, IP addresses are converted to hashes and used only for short-term rate limiting (raw IP addresses are not stored).
Processor: data is stored in a Supabase (Supabase Inc.) database in the Seoul region (AWS ap-northeast-2). It is kept while you're registered on the ranking, and you can delete it anytime in the app with Settings › Ranking Nickname › Delete My Record or Settings › Delete Save Data. Deleting immediately removes your nickname and authentication token and takes you off the ranking; only streak counts and run summaries that can no longer be linked to you remain for statistics. Simply deleting the app leaves the server record in place, so please use the menus above before deleting the app, or contact us below.
Offensive nicknames can be reported with Report on the ranking screen or hidden on your own screen only. Nicknames reported by several people are hidden automatically, and the operator reviews them and hides or deactivates them. The ranking is a just-for-fun record with no prizes.
Gameplay statistics (Google Analytics for Firebase)
To improve the game, we send anonymous gameplay events to Google Analytics for Firebase. It's set up without the advertising identifier (IDFA) and distinguishes devices only by a randomly generated app-instance ID. We send:
- Screen changes; stage start, clear, failure and quit (stage number, stars, turns, remaining HP, attempts, etc.)
- Choices on the result screen (next, retry, etc.); item unlocks and use
- Rewarded ad offers and viewing results (or rewards received without an ad if you bought Remove Ads); cutscene views and skips; Bestiary opens; tips on/off
- Remove Ads purchase and restore outcomes (iPhone and iPad, see above)
- Challenge Mode progress (run number, streak, etc.) and ranking screen opens, registration and record submission results (nicknames are not sent)
- App version and build type, device model, OS version and language, approximate region estimated from IP address (country/city level), and automatic events such as first open and sessions
This information contains nothing that directly identifies you, such as a name or contact details, and isn't used for ad personalization or tracking across other apps or websites. Processing follows Google's Privacy Policy and Firebase privacy information.
Ads (Google AdMob)
Google AdMob shows a banner ad at the bottom of menu screens and rewarded ads that you choose to watch (to get items or continue). If you bought Remove Ads, these ads are not shown. Every ad request is fixed to non-personalized ads, so no interest profile is built. The app does not request App Tracking Transparency permission, so it does not use the IDFA. While loading and showing ads, Google may process:
- Approximate location estimated from IP address (country/region level)
- Device identifiers used for frequency capping and ad-fraud prevention (identifiers limited to the app or developer)
- Ad interactions such as requests, impressions, taps and rewards
- Crash and performance diagnostics from the ads SDK
If an ad fails to load, the game continues as normal. TestFlight beta builds show Google test ads.
Ad consent in Europe and the UK
In regions where consent is required, such as the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, a Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) consent form appears before the first ad request. You can keep playing even if you don't consent, and you can change your choice anytime in Settings › Ad Privacy Options.
Other third-party services
There is no login, cloud save or separate crash-reporting SDK (see above for the ranking server). Payments and refunds for Remove Ads are handled by Apple. Data handling by the App Store and TestFlight themselves (including beta feedback and crash reports) follows Apple's policies, and data handling by Google Play itself follows Google's policies.
Children's privacy
The app does not directly collect personal information such as names or contact details from anyone, including children, and requests only age-appropriate, non-personalized ads.
Changes to this policy
If our ads, analytics or payment setup or the information processed changes, we will update this page and note the revision date.
