TOKI KEYBOARD

Toki Keyboard

A Hangul keyboard where your hamster pet fights · iPhone

A Hangul keyboard with Dubeolsik and Cheonjiin layouts. Type in Messages or Notes just as you normally would. Every letter you type, Toki the hamster on the strip above the keys attacks once, and when you send a message, all the enemies that have gathered burst at once. When you level up, tap the Click key to pick one of 3 upgrades. One day is one run, and it starts fresh at 4 AM. Toki's level keeps growing.

Coming soon to the App StoreFree on iPhone · getting a pet is a one-time purchase

How to turn it on

  1. Open the Toki Keyboard app and tap Open Settings.
  2. Go to Keyboards → turn on Toki Keyboard. That alone gives you typing and pet battles.
  3. Tap a message field, then tap the globe key at the bottom left to switch to Toki Keyboard. Hold the globe key to pick from the list.
  4. (Optional) On the same screen, turn on Allow Full Access for typing sounds and haptics, and to see Toki's stats in the app.

FAQ

Does it collect what I type?
No. Toki Keyboard does not store what you type or send it anywhere, and the keyboard does not use the internet (the app only talks to the App Store for payments when you get a pet). The game uses only numbers such as how many letters you typed and how many times you sent, and those numbers stay on this iPhone. Details are in the Privacy Policy.

Do I have to turn on Full Access?
No. Typing, pet battles, upgrades, pet levels and switching pets all work without it. iOS only allows speaker sound and sharing records with the app for keyboards that have Full Access, so only typing sounds, haptics and viewing your records in the app need it.

How does it know I "sent" something?
The keyboard can't see the Send button in the messaging app, so it counts the moment the text field that had text becomes empty as a send. Deleting all the text can also clear the run.

The explosions bother me while I work.
Turn off Pet battle in the app's settings and you get a plain Hangul keyboard without the strip on top. You never lose anything and nothing blocks the screen.

There is no dictation (microphone).
iOS does not allow third-party keyboards to use the microphone. Hold the globe key and switch to the default keyboard to dictate. In password and phone number fields, iOS also brings up the default keyboard automatically.

Is it free? What do I have to buy?
The app is free, and typing, Toki, pet battles and upgrades are all included. Pet #2, Enter (a baby penguin with a hammer who slams it every two letters), can be had with a one-time purchase of "Get Enter" in the app's Style tab, or with keycaps (up to 20 a day) that you collect while using the keyboard. You earn keycaps only when the run levels up and from treasure chests, and they are never sold for money. There are no subscriptions and no ads.

I changed phones or reinstalled the app.
With the same Apple Account, tap Restore Purchases in the app's Style tab and Enter comes back. Keycaps and pet levels exist only on this iPhone, so deleting the app deletes them too.

I want a refund.
Apple handles payments, so you can request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. More details are in the Terms of Use.

I want to start Toki's records over.
There is no login, and your records exist only on this iPhone. Deleting the app also deletes the keyboard records, and they cannot be restored.

The keyboard suddenly switched to the default keyboard.
Pick Toki Keyboard again with the globe key and you can carry on as before. If it happens often, email me your device model, your iOS version and which app you were in.
